Discovering Johor

heylo !

"Discovering Johor" ??
haha never heard of it right ?

selalu dengar Discovery Channel je ...

Well, that's what we (family and I) did last Sunday, 19/12/10
our theme was "Discover Johor :Sights and Taste"   :P
so these are the places that we went to;
1. Pontian
2. Batu Pahat
3. Muar
4. Segamat

First day/19.12.10/Sunday

woke up kinda early .
After putting all our bags in the car, we are ready to go (!)
First place we stopped, really stopped to get some pics were at Ayer Baloi, Pontian.
Took some pics of some fishermen, jetty, and some old boats.
There were so many graves along the way WHICH kinda scares me.


our next stop is Minyak Beku, Batu Pahat.

Introduction :

Kampung Minyak Beku is a seaside village lying on the west coast of Johor, Malaysia. Kampung Minyak Beku is where the famous chiseled rock is located, a big rock about ten feet in size (beside the police station). The big rock was chiselled by the Siamese (Ayudhya) to look for fresh water. It was said the Siamese soldiers came here by boat to attack Malacca but was defeated by Tun Perak back in the 15th century. The chiselled rock became famous where it later replaced the name of Bandar Penggaram to Batu Pahat.

We ate a warung near the beach. Batu Pahat's local food is mostly asam pedas WHICH I dont like and Nasi Briyani. While waiting for the asam pedas (father's favourite) to arrive, me and siblings went playing at the beach writing our names, throwing pebbles.


And then we continued the journey.  We stopped at Gersik Hot Springs, Muar.
The place is definetely not like what I imagined. Its an open outdoor place and I dont think the place is well maintained. So crowded ==""
and I dont think I want to go there again .


I ate ice cream Malaysia. Its been a long long long time since I eat that ice cream.

Alas we arrived at Muar Town . Went to the Muar River, we took a ride on the river cruise . The cruise took about 40 minutes from Tanjung Emas all the way to the new Muar bridge. Along the way we saw the scenic view of Masjid Sultan Ibrahim, Sultan Ismail, the old Muar market, fishing jetty and some parts of Muar Town.


Finally its time to check in. We stayed at Riverview Hotel. But I didnt see any river at all, the only thing I saw was a parit which have a biawak =.=""
The room was okay . It was okay coz I get to sleep on the bed. muahahaha ...

Second Day/20.12.10/Monday

Woke up early.
Went to eat breakfast at Jalan Abdullah facing the bus station and Medan Selera Bentayan which was one of the last Melaka defence fort during the Portugese attack in 1511. It seems that orang-orang eat satay, mee rebus, mee bandung for breakfast so we ordered satay and nasi lemak. The satay was good, the nasi lemak was "so-so" .


Then we packed our bags . We tried to look for Makam Panglima Lidah Hitam but unforunetly, theres no signboard saying where the tomb is.  So we went on to Kampung Raja at Pagoh where we found Makam Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah 1 which was the brilliant Sultan of Melaka according to the history.


From Pagoh, we went to Bukit Kepong, Muar. It was fun eventhough they were a lot of mosquitos. After listening to the story about why the name is Bukit Kepong and what really happened at the Police Station at Bukit Kepong, we were ready to go to Segamat.

We took some pictures along the way to Segamat. And finally we arrived there around 2o'clock. Had our lunch at a warung. Then we looked for Makam Bendahara Tepok.  The situation was the same as when we tried to search for Makam Panglima Lidah Hitam, theres no signboard telling us where the tomb is but this we were lucky coz I suddenly saw a grave with a yellow cloth . 

Segamat, on the right bank of the Segamat River, has grown into one of the largest towns in Johor. The name Segamat comes from the words Segar Amat or Segera Amat. About 400 years ago during the Portuguese invasion of Malacca, the Sultan was defeated. One of the Sultan's relatives called Bendahara Tepok or the Lame Bendahara, realizing that Malacca was about to fall, fled with some of his followers. After visiting the tomb, we went to the Segamat Park. Had fun playing the swing :P



On the way the Bendahara fell ill. Arriving at the present site of Segamat town he called a halt. Bendahara Tepok rested here, bathing in the cold water of the stream. After a few days he told his followers that he felt much better, Segar amat badan ku, and intended to make his home at this place. The place was thus named Segamat and the stream, a tributary of the Muar, was called the Segamat River. On slightly raised ground, about 2 kilometers out of town, on the road to Muar, stand four zinc-roofed sheds protecting old tombstones which lied buried the early founders of Segamat and their descendants.



Finally its time for us to go back home (!)

just telling .

heyy this is specially for you . not mean to 'mnyebok' but i think you went far enough telling bad things bout your mom . okay fine i dont know you very well , i dont know if youre not her real child or wtv but still when a person who takes care of you when you were a child, gives you A LOT of LOVE deserves some respect . i may get angry sometime but still i know that they do it for some reason , and that reason is because they love us . stop spreading your bad thoughts about your mother to the whole world . i mean like it is world wide web isnt ? just be patient . give her positive support even if you dont get what you want . again i dont know you well so this is just what i think . i hope your mother dosent your blog, coz it might her feelings . 

lastly, im doing this is because i want to help not because i like you coz I DONT . youre not a friend you didnt respect me you didnt respect the truth or even respect yourself ! i donno whether youre reading this or not but i hope you understand what im trying to tell you missy .
